Her quiet manner hides her intense fear and distrust of others, a result of a lifetime of poor treatment at the hands of various masters. For this reason, she is devoted to keeping those around her happy, but only because she’s afraid of being handled cruelly.

After experiencing the protagonist’s kindness, she gradually breaks free of her shell and blooms into an intelligent, quiet woman with a heart-melting smile.

The youngest-ever chancellor of the kingdom of Palretta who runs the kingdom’s daily affairs with absolute competence.

She serves the protagonist, her king, with distinction as his closest aide in official matters. In her eyes, the country far outweighs her life, and she is not interested in pursuing love.

Though calm and unruffled, she exhibits considerable kindness and thought for the needs of her new sovereign, to the point of being very tolerant of his foibles, accepting him for who he is from beginning to end.

Meeting with the protagonist changes everything. New values spring up inside Sophia, and in the happiness of her daily life, she gives voice to a more playful side of herself.
