Quem, an adventurer, is the first person to step foot in the dungeon, “Heaven’s Ladder”, in over 500 years.

But not long after she does so, a strange shadowy monster casts some sort of curse on her.

“Come deep――into――this place――I shall await you at――the highest spot――”, the apparition says before vanishing.

In order to break the curse, Quem teams up with the adventurer Vise to explore the dungeon and to uncover the meaning behind those mysterious words.

Quem Quaeritis

A free-spirited young adventurer who came to Sucesor intending to conquer “Heaven’s Ladder”, the ancient ruins which lie on the outskirts of the town, to prove her skills. Unfortunately for Quem, not long after she stepped into its dungeons, a shadowy monster appeared and placed a curse on her. Now to break the spell, she has to seek the help of the info broker Vise and explore the dungeon to find a solution.

Vise White

A local information broker at Sucesor. Not being much of a fighter herself, she mostly provides useful information to adventurers in need. And as fate has dictated, she becomes an unlikely ally for the down-on-her-luck Quem.

Great Game. Has a few bugs, but the plot/story is good, and the gameplay, while not perfect, is quite good (hotkeys for spells and potions would be nice instead of having to open the menu each time). I really liked it anyway.

Awesome game. The mechanics are great. The story made me care about the main characters (and even a few side-characters). I only found myself grinding a couple of times to strengthen my weapons, but I don’t think I needed to anyway.

Controller friendly, resolution is 1120×663 according to Winexp, good writing/characters/story, the gameplay isn’t turn based. Make sure to save frequently, just save frequently. The game will crash after a while and it’s time to restart when your frame rate starts dropping. There isn’t much in options, audio and an option to drop the FPS to 30. No remappable keys/buttons, but the layout is intuitive so it’s not a problem. Dungeons are 50 floors each, there’s a good weapon at the end of each. The majority of h-scenes are from losses (a few are through events), but if you beat the boss you’ll unlock them all for that level so you don’t have to lose to every enemy. The major downsides apart from resolution and optimization are you can’t purchase items in quantities. So you have to repeatedly buy the one medicine over and over, and if you do it too quickly the money counter won’t be able to keep up. I also wished you could life up Quem’s tank top/skirt with the mouse cursor, just felt like something that should’ve been doable but isn’t.

Two little tips I discovered myself, a fast way to refine your weapons quickly is to: forge weapons at the blacksmith > start > travel > Heaven’s Ladder > talk to Vise > return > dash back to the blacksmith, and repeat, should only take you about 10-15 seconds to do.
If you’re quick enough, you can open two chest by shooting an arrow or a needle at the other chest and timing it right to where when it hits the other chest; you move up to open your chest simultaneously, you’ll get both of them. It takes practice to get it right.

An adventurer named Quem is the first person to step foot inside “Heaven’s Ladder” in 500 years. But not long after, she’s cursed by a strange, shadowy monster. Now she must reach the top of Heaven’s Ladder, and hopefully, break the spell.
